Dexter was invited to lead the Veterans for Peace (VfP) delegation in the
Brunswick-Topsham Memorial Day parade. Dexter (in front on the left side)
helps to carry the photo of Hugh Thompson, who VfP was honoring, the helicopter
pilot who stopped the slaughter of innocent Vietnamese civilians by "Charlie
Company" on March 16, 1968 in the village called My Lai. Nearly 500 Vietnamese
were killed by U.S. troops in that famous massacre. Thompson was able to save
one dozen of the villagers.
